Coca-Cola London Eye marks International Day of the Girl

The day started at 8am with speed-mentoring on the London Eye for over 200 schoolgirls from London and beyond with over 200 successful and inspiring women mentors from across a wide range of professions and industries including engineering, sport, film, media, politics, fashion and campaigning.
Influential mentors include: Gemma Cairney, Angie Le Mar, Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson, Anita Rani, Adeleyo Adedayo, Cathy Newman, Jessica Hynes, Julia Hobsbawm, June Sarpong, Kathy Lette, Ronke Philips, Seema Malhorta MP, Sharmadean Reid, Tamara Rojo and Stella Creasy MP.
The United Nations declared International Day of the Girl as a moment to celebrate girls’ potential and their achievements, whilst acknowledging the difficult challenges millions face around the world. The first International Day of the Girl took place in 2012. This event was part of Southbank Centre’s core commitment to promoting equality for women and girls.
