Two ice sculptors started at 7am as the rush hour commuters made their way to work, chipping away at a block of ice measuring six meters long and two meters high, to sculpt the most famous buildings in London with the London Eye as the centre piece. The ice sculpture next the London Eyeskate rink drew passers by throughout the day; the result of twelve hours hard work was a spectacular frozen view of the capital.

EDF Energy London Eye spokesperson Leah Larkin commented: ‘The London Eye is at the centre of London and we wanted to create a spectacle for Londoners and visitors alike to kick off our Frostival season. The ice sculpture features all of the much loved sites from our capital with the London Eye right at the heart of the piece. We are sure visitors to the London Eye and Eyeskate will enjoy the ice sculpting we also have on display at weekends during our Frostival festival.”
