Remember, remember… that just because it’s November, it doesn’t mean there’s nothing to do! London has as much going on as ever and autumn is a great time to experience the changing city.
THE TOP TEN THINGS TO DO IN NOVEMBER
1. See the city by Day and Night
The London Eye special seasonal Day and Night tickets are now on sale so you can see the capital in the light and in the dark on the same day.
2. The Lord Mayor’s Show and Fireworks
On 11th November a huge procession through the city will celebrate the new Lord Mayor and be followed by a big firework display over the River Thames in the evening.
3. South Bank Centre Winter Festival
It’s impossible for even the biggest Scrooge not to get in the festive mood by just looking at the South Bank Centre Winter Festival 2017 programme. There’s a Finnish sauna, fondue in a snow globe, ABBA singalongs, ice carvings and of course, mulled wine, tasty food, artisan gifts and a beautiful tree.
4. National Theatre Posters
Stop by the National Theatre’s Wolfson Gallery exploring poster design from 1963 to the present day. Curated by Rick Poynor and exploring changes in design, process and function over the years. Bespoke prints are available to buy too.
5. Sculpture in the City
The Square Mile isn’t just for bankers and brokers - download the map and discover modern art sculptures across 18 locations in the area. It includes work by Damien Hirst, Karen Tang and Paul McCarthy.
6. Festival of Film
The Royal Albert Hall’s Festival of Film returns, celebrating the magic of the movies and shining a spotlight on stunning film scores.
7. Flea at Flat Iron Square
A Saturday or Sunday well spent nosing through vintage clothes, furniture, books and more with new makers every week and vinyls spinning from the resident ‘Fleajays’.
8. Rag ‘n’ Bone Man
Rag ‘n’ Bone Man plays three nights at the O2 Academy Brixton on The Overproof Tour from 23rd-25th November.
9. Oxford Street Lights Official Switch On
You may have seen a few lights twinkling along the street already but the official switch on (in association with the NSPCC) in on 7th November and is expected to attract one million people, and of course a few celebrities.
10. Bonfire Night in London
There’ll be fireworks across the capital on, and in the lead up to 5th November. Get up high in the London Eye after dark and see if you can spot some or head to one of the many organised displays. We’ve picked some of the best below with all the details you need to know…

Battersea Park Fireworks 2017
Saturday 4th November - gates open at 6pm for pre-show entertainment, food stalls and bars. The bonfire will be lit at 7.30pm with the fireworks at 8pm. Tickets are £11 for adults and under 11s need a free ticket.

Southwark Park Fireworks 2017
Sunday 5th November - gates open at 5pm for for, drinks and entertainment and last entry to the park at 6.30pm. Free tickets for residents.

Crystal Palace Park Fireworks 2017
Sunday 5th November - gates at 6pm with a children’s show (less bangs, more music and colours) at 7pm and the main event at 8.30pm. Tickets are £8.50 for 11+, £4.50 for 3-10s.

Alexandra Palace Fireworks Festival Fireworks 2017
Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th November with a laser show at 8.30pm Friday and 7.30pm Saturday and the main fireworks display at 9pm and 8pm respectively. The firework soundtrack has been mixed especially by DJ Yoda. Tickets are £11 for 16+, £8.50 for 11-15s and under 10s need a free ticket.

Wembley Park Fireworks 2017
Saturday 4th November - 6pm to 9pm for performers, street food and the main display. Free entry.

Blackheath Fireworks 2017
Saturday 4th November - funfair open from noon, food stalls and bars open from 5pm with the firework display at 8pm. Free for everyone.

Waltham Forest Fireworks 2017
Sunday 5th November - free display at Chestnuts Field with gates and a funfair from 6.30pm and the main display at 8pm. Free entry, no ticket required.

Wimbledon Park Fireworks 2017
Saturday 4th November - there’s bonfires and two displays - one at 6.30pm for young children and the main display at 8.15pm. There’s also fairground rides and food stalls. Tickets are £8 for adults and £6 for 5-15s when booked online.
