Fun, refreshing sparkling white

Region: Kent, England

Grapes: 75% Bacchus and 25% Chardonnay

This is a fun and unique project from renowned English wine produce Chape Down to bringing some British Sparkle to the normally still grape variety of Bacchus.  The wine has aromas of pineapple, grapefruit and elderflower.  The gentle effervescence carries the tropical fruit and floral flavours giving a crisp , refreshing finish.

Full-flavoured, nutty white 

Region: Rioja, Spain 

Grapes: Viutra 

ABV: 13%

Bright and clear pale yellow in colour.  On the nose it presents a good balance between the aromas coming from the variety and those coming from its stay in the barrel such as floral, fruity aromas of apple, pear and ripe banana together with pastry spices and light notes of aromatic herbs.  On the palate the fresh fruit is to the fore with balanced silkiness on the mind-palate and a long fresh finish.

Dry, elegant rosé

Region: Côtes de Provence, France 

Grape: Grenache/Syrah

ABV: 12.5%

Rose-pink with wild strawberry, raspberry and redcurrant aromas.  The palate offers a combination of ripe red fruits and zesty apple, with refreshing acidity which adds grip and texture.  A blend of Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault, gently pressed so that just enough colour and flavour is extracted to maintain the delicate profile.   

Juicy, medium-bodied, fruit-led red 

Region: Alentejo, Portugal 

Grapes: Aragonêz, Trincadeira

ABV: 13%

 

Smooth, supple and super-reliable red - one of Portugal's favourites - from the experienced team at Esporão in the sun-soaked Alentejo region.  The wine has good sustainability credentials as well, making no use of chemical pesticides and herbicides, and estate buildings employing biodegradable materials.  

Spicy, peppery, warming red

Region: Sicily, Italy 

Grapes: Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio 

ABV: 13.5%

Torre Mora is a boutique winery uniquely located on the Etna volcano, a black mountain looking at a blue shining sea.  A blend of Nerello Mascalese 95% and 5% Nerello Cappuccio which has been aged for 24 months in oak gives an intense deep ruby colour and complex, dark fruit, black cherry, plums, spice, coffee with austere, elegant, firm tannins.

Refreshing, racy, medium-sweet wine 

Region: Casablanca Valley, Chile 

Grapes: Sauvignon Blanc 

ABV: 11.5%

Bright and beautiful golden colour.  Lively aromas of papayas, honey, ripe apricot, almonds and walnuts jump right at you and are complemented with fresh citrus pastry notes,  Pleasant soft and velvety, accompanied by a refreshing acidity that persistence for years to come.
